A Big Hi to all my family and friends,

The twins arrived this Tuesday FINALLY ! I am in love with both of them. Edward is my little man and Heather my lovely little lady. I can sit for ages and just stare at them. They both look so perfect and unique.

My C Section took place on Tuesday at 9am. The actual operation while scary went off without issue. It was amazing when the doctor pulled first one baby out (Edward) and then the next. My first thought that went through my head as Edward came out was is he ok and then he pelted out a big cry and I felt so much better, Heather came out covered with white “stuff” and took what seemed like an age to cry…in reality it was just seconds. All in all they both were quickly given a good bill of health.

By the next day with the drugs worn off the REALITY of me having just undergone an operation kicked in. It turned out that I was very allergic to either the spinal or the morphine that I was given. As a result I felt like my entire body itched all over. No amount of benadryl taken through my IV seemed to help. Well no further morphine meant that I had to receive alternative pain medication, which did not seem to work initially. After a few combinations I finally received some relief but not total pain relief. To put it mildly a C Section is PAINFUL ! I can’t wait to feel myself and be able to do all I can for the twins.

I am getting a tad tired so before logging off I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and wishes. Both Jeff and myself are very appreciative.

Till later

Houston! The Eagles have landed! Yea! We got up early today (5am) for Genelle’s 9am C-section. Everything went well and both babies are perfect. Edward Joseph came out first at 9:29am (eastern) and weighed 6 lbs 12 oz (3.06 kgs) and was 19.5 inches (49.53cm). Heather Bronwyn came out next (kicking!) at 9:31 am and weighed 6 lbs even (2.72 kgs). She was also 19.5 inches (49.53cm).

The Twins! Heather and Edward

I was so excited. Genelle did such a great job and is reccovering now from her delivery. I watched the babies get delivered, cleaned, washed and diapered! They are both perfect and cute. I videoed the entire time and will post photos and videos here soon.

Yeah! Its great to be a dad!

Hi to my family and friends !

I have been lazy to post lately but mostly I have mainly not wanted to post as I was afriaid I would just launch into a long tirade of complaints. I am sooooooo uncomfortable……I just can’t wait for the babies to arrive. I am currently 36 weeks and plan to BEG my doctor on Friday to push the date of my C Section fwd to next week. As Jeff posted both babies are growing wonderfully. Not only that , they seem perfectly content to just stay put in the womb. By next week they should weigh approximately 6.5 pounds each…YIKES !!!! That would explain why I feel like I am having a heart attack after a short walk accross the room…not to mention the fact that I think they are both nestled on my sciatic nerve which makes walking…or even changing position while sitting orin bed very difficult. So much for a relaxing bed/couch rest.

On a brighter note we are really looking fwd to the twins arrival. The nursery is almost done….the basinettes are assembled and dressed for the twins and I have washed all the baby stuff…..literally everything :)

Chat again soon….hopefully with news of their arrival.

Genelle just called me from the doctor’s office. Heather already weighs 6lbs (2.72 kgs) and Edward weights 5lbs 14 oz (2.67 kgs)! Wow we are now in the normal weight range for single babies. Quite amazing to know. We were worried that the twins might only be 5lbs (2.27 kgs) when they came, but we still have a week or so to go so they will both definitely be over 6 pounds when they enter the world.

Last Friday my doctor put me on maternity leave. While maybe I should have been ready for it I found I was not. I really thought that I would probably hang in longer but physically I guess I just could not. I feel like I am having a heart attack with just walking up a short flight of stairs :) The babies however are doing well. I had my first Non stress test (NST) done and both seemed fine. I of course was very stressed. The nurse took an age to find both babies. She found one twin instantly but getting the other hooked up on the heart monitor was another matter. I will be doing an NST every week going foreward….GREAT.

On another note we are finally making good progress wwith unpacking. I hired a really sweet girl to help unpack since I am pretty much not capable of much at the moment. She is plowing through the boxes at an amazing rate. The twins cribbs and changing table arrive next Monday….I can’t wait. I also washed all the babies clothes and kinda packed a bag for the hospital. I am not exactly ready but feel like I am getting there. I also have this feeling that the babies are coming………..
